The second largest global platform for trading bitcoin futures CME Group predicts that may will be a record month on volume of transactions with this asset.
According to news resource The Block with reference to the letter of the analysts of the Chicago stock exchange (CME) in may 2019, the average daily volume of futures trading on BTC reached 14 000 contracts.
The largest number of transactions was recorded on may 13 when the CME Group customers have signed 33 700 contracts worth more than $1.35 billion in bitcoins. The exchange also reported the increase of trade accounts for bitcoin futures to 2500.
In the report of the exchange said that in December 2017, that is, since the launch of futures on BTC, the platform has processed more than 1.6 million contracts, totaling $50 billion.
Compared with April, the scale of futures trading on the largest cryptocurrency in may increased by about 50%, however, net profit of the trading platforms in the first quarter of this year still fell by 17%.
