Last week the owners of the unverified accounts on the bitcoin exchange Poloniex had begun to complain that their funds were frozen. The number of complaints in social networks and forums is growing, and some users who were able to verify their accounts through an automated system also reported that they are unable to trade or obtain access to money. This writes Bitcoin.com.
In December last year, the exchange Poloniex announced that all its users are obliged to verify, in order to maintain access to your accounts in the first quarter of 2018. In February, the exchange was bought by us payment company Circle. Many believe that the requirement of verification of accounts related to this sale, as the new owner of the exchange carefully approaches the question of identification of the users of its products and the fight against money laundering. Last week, many unverified users Poloniex lost access to their accounts, and the exchange meets the following message:
In one of the discussions on Reddit begin to accumulate complaints about the verification process. Thus, the user u/PauleeWorli writes that he is still unable to access your account, despite the fact that you have completed all the necessary procedures.
“I’m an unverified user. When I went today to the stock exchange, I was told to get verified,” he explains. “I did, and then received a confirmation email. In my profile says that it corresponds to the third level of verification, which translates to $25,000 per day. But when I try to start trading it says that my account is frozen. I issued a ticket and watched the responses on Twitter. It seems many people have encountered such a problem: the account is verified but frozen.”
Other users write that they were not warned in advance that the account will be immediately blocked.
“Something wrong, Poloniex. I clearly remember that before 2018 you warned about disabling trade for unverified users. Then you reported that such users will be able to withdraw their money,” said one of the participants in the conversation. “I don’t even received a letter which said about the time frame!”
