Users of social networks was suspected of handling the largest volume bitcoin exchange Bitfinex.

Friday, August 31 crypto currency exchange has published a series of tweets about the forced suspension of trading due to technical problems.

The platform is encountering connectivity issues with one of the servers. As a precautions we had to suspend trading temporarily. We are working hard to have the platform return to normal operations as soon as possible.

“Platform encountered difficulties when connecting to one of the servers. As preventive measures we had to temporarily suspend trading. We make every effort to as quickly as possible to restore normal work of the platform”

Soon published a tweet saying that the main server matchingsum engine exchange has been restarted by the hosting provider without prior notification and that the process of returning to normal operation will take at least 30 minutes.

Our matching engine server was restarted by our hosting provider without notice. We are in the process of restarting the server and returning the platform to normal operations. We expect this process to take at least 30 more minutes. Apologies for any inconvenience.

After that Bitfinex has published in his blog post, which States that a total of simple lasted about an hour. Representatives of the site assured users that all funds are safe and the situation is under control.

Bitfinex also stressed that all transactions are recorded and executed in turn.

Many users of social networks was concerned that a technical failure coincided with the date of expiration bitcoin-futures exchange CME.

“I will never believe that you only have a single server that is responsible for the operation of trading services,” wrote one user.

User under the name DiversifyCrypto suggested that the hosting provider can be associated with a CME:
