Survey American law firm Foley & Lardner showed that the best cryptocurrency to invest is Ethereum.
Most investors prefer to invest in Ethereum. To such conclusion came the authors of the survey about the preferences of cryptocurrency investors from Foley & Lardner.
Another interesting result — the majority of respondents from the US is interested in a clearer and more meaningful regulation of the cryptocurrency market.
Currently there is no understanding of how as can be applied the provisions on the financial markets or services to the cryptocurrency market.
The majority of respondents stated that they are willing to invest in cryptocurrencies.
The survey involved 62 professionals involved in trading and investing, or are the leaders of cryptocurrency companies.
38% of respondents most preferred investment cryptocurrency called Ethereum, A 35% Bitcoin, 5% — Ripple.
84% of respondents reported that initial offers of coins needs to be resolved. At the same time, 86% said that the cryptocurrency industry needs to develop a common voluntary standard.
Patrick Doherty (Patrick Daugherty), partner and member of the group Blockchain Task Force, commented on the issue:
“Uncertainty regarding regulatory standards and obligations is an obstacle to the development of a useful product in this area. But a recent speech by one of the top managers of the SEC William Hinman (William Hinman) shed some light on the position of the SEC and plans the financial regulator in the cryptocurrency industry.”
Respondents highlighted other threats to market. Among them – the hacking and security breaches that were identified as the most pressing threats to the viability and growth of the cryptocurrency industry. 71% respodent called theft of cryptocurrency is a very strong risk.
According to 41% of the respondents, the market will fall in the next 12 months, and another 29% believe that it will happen in the next two to five years. But because the market is volatile, almost 60% of respondents are willing to take risks to get money.
72% of individuals will invest in exchange-traded funds (ETFs) that own virtual currencies. At the moment, the SEC has not yet allowed ETFs to begin work. But in the future some companies may be able to offer an ETF based on Bitcoin, as soon as SEC approves it.
Respondents answered the question about when the market capitalization of Bitcoin will be surpassed by another currency. 35% said that it is possible, but it will not happen in the near future. 5% believe that it will happen in a year. 14% believe that it will happen in 1-2 years, 18% said that this happens 2 to 5 years, 5% that it will happen in 5 years, 11% said never and 12% are undecided.
